When you are answering the Privacy Policy questionnaire, you will be asked whether you want to provide Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA) rights to residents of Oregon only or to everyone that visits your website or application, regardless of location. The OCPA provides the following privacy rights to residents of Oregon:

  1. The right to confirm that the business is processing that individual's personal information;
  2. The right to obtain a list of the specific third parties to whom the personal information was disclosed;
  3. The right to confirm the categories of personal information that have been processed or are currently processed by the business;
  4. The right to access their personal information;
  5. The right to receive their personal information in a portable and, to the extent feasible, a readily usable format that allows the individual to transmit this information to another entity;
  6. The right to request the amendment or correction of their personal information;
  7. The right to request the deletion of some or all of their personal information;
  8. The right to opt out of sales of their personal information;
  9. The right to opt out of the use of their personal information for the purposes of profiling in furtherance of decisions that could produce legal or similarly significant effects;
  10. The right to opt out of targeted advertising; and
  11. The right to not be discriminated against based upon the exercise of privacy rights.

By law, these rights are provided to residents of Oregon only. However, some businesses may want to provide these rights to every website or application visitor, regardless of where they reside, as doing so can:

  1. Prevent the work inherent in confirming the individual's place of residence when they request to exercise their privacy rights;
  2. Reduce the confusion of individuals as to what privacy rights apply to them;
  3. Help reduce the length of your Privacy Policy, especially if you have to comply with multiple privacy laws.

To answer this question, please select whether you would like to offer the above privacy rights to residents of Oregon only or to everyone that visits your website or application, regardless of their location.
