On very rare occasions after Implementing the UserCentrics Cookie Tool on your website, you may notice that an embedded video no longer plays, or a font no longer loads. This is due to that service wanting to fire a cookie in order to load, and the Cookie Tool not knowing how to work with it. Generally the Error Message tends to look something like this.





This message means that the service that is trying to fire a Cookie, which needs to be disclosed to the Cookie Tool in your Termageddon Cookie Policy questionnaire.

2. Try locally storing your video


Here are step by step directions on how to solve this issue!


1. Log in to your Termageddon Account.


2. Select the License in which needs to be worked on.


3. Click "Edit Policy Details" on your Cookie Policy and Consent Tool





4. Scroll down and click "Next" at the bottom of the screen to reach the last page of this policy questionnaire. The Page looks like this.



5. If you have not run an initial scan of your website's sitemap. Please add your sitemap URL to the "Scan URL" field click "Yes" and then click "Run Scan".  (Sitemap URL's are generally your normal website URL with /sitemap.xml added to the end. Try typing in your domain name and add /sitemap.xml in your browser and you will be directed to the corrrect URL to copy and paste into the scanner)  This scan will attempt to find all the 3rd party services that can fire a cookie on a users browser and add them to the list on the left side so the tool knows how to control them. 


6. Once the Scan is complete, the list on the left side of the screen will be populated with the services that were detected. Here is an example below.



7. If the service that is not working correctly on your website does not appear on the cookie list, you may need to add it manually. To do so, click the "Add New Service Button" under the list that was populated on the left side of the screen.



8. A Search box will appear, and you will be able to search and select your service from the list (Services may take 10 seconds to fully load prior to being able to search).


9. Once you have located the service that needs to be added (YouTube Video), select it and then click "Add Service"



 (If you do not see your service on the Predefined list, you can click "Custom" and you'll be able to add all the details about the cookie you are using.)



10. This adds the service to your list. Once all services are added, you can click "Submit" and you should be good to go! The service on your website should now load correctly.  (Occasionally, you may need clear your local cache if the error window is still appearing. You can always check if your site is working correctly by launching it in an incognito window
