When you are answering the Privacy Policy questionnaire, you will be asked whether you want to offer New Jersey SB332 rights to residents of New Jersey only or to everyone that visits your website or application, regardless of location. New Jersey SB332 provides the following privacy rights to residents of New Jersey:

  • The right to confirm whether a business is processing their personal information;

  • The right to opt out of sales of personal information;

  • The right to opt out of the use of personal information for purposes of targeted advertising;

  • The right to opt out of the use of personal information for purposes of profiling in furtherance of decisions that could produce legal or similarly significant effects;

  • The right to access their personal information;

  • The right to receive the personal information in a portable and, to the extent feasible, a readily usable format that allows them to transmit this information to another entity;

  • The right to request the amendment or correction of personal information;

  • The right to request the deletion of some or all of their personal information;

  • The right to not be discriminated against based upon the exercise of privacy rights.

New Jersey SB332 provides these rights to residents of New Jersey only. However, some businesses may want to provide these rights to every website or application visitor as doing so can:

  • Prevent the work inherent in confirming the individual’s place of residence when they request to exercise their privacy rights;

  • Reduce the confusion of individuals as to what privacy rights apply to them;

  • Help reduce the length of your Privacy Policy, especially if you have to comply with multiple privacy laws.

To answer this question, please select whether you’d like to offer the above privacy rights to residents of New Jersey only or to everyone that visits your website or application, regardless of their location.
