Below are the instructions to embed the Termageddon policies into Squarespace pages, then add hyperlinks to those pages so that they are visible in your website's footer.

1. Log into your Squarespace account and click into the respective website editor.

2. Create new policy page (for example, a Privacy Policy page): On the left hand side, click 'website', and then click the '+' sign next to "Not Linked", and click "Blank Page".

3. Add a title your page - For example, for your Privacy Policy page, you can title it "Privacy Policy" and then click enter. You will automatically be brought to that page to edit it.

4. Click 'edit' to edit the page.

5. Click the 'add section' button.

6. Click 'add a blank section'

7. Click 'add block'

8. Add the 'code' widget

9. Spread the width of the code block to your desired amount.

10. Hover over the code block and click 'edit' (the pencil icon):

11. Grab your Termageddon embed code - To view your embed codes, log into Termageddon in another browser tab (or another browser window), click into your license, and click 'view embed code'.  Click the 'advanced' button to view/enable styling features (additional styling can be performed with CSS after you embed the codes -see css guide). When ready, click the purple 'copy' button.

12. Paste the embed code into the squarespace Code Block (and then you can click anywhere outside of the Code Block for changes to save):

** You may see a notice that the script is not loading while you are in editing mode.  Simply publish the page and visit the page in another tab (or another browser window or in incognito mode) to confirm the policy properly loads. For styling the policies, please see the previous Step 11 above.

13. Click 'save' (in the top left corner) to save the page changes. You can then click 'exit' to exit the page.

14.  Repeat these steps for each of the policies you've generated with Termageddon.  Create separate pages for each policy (combining policies into one page has been found to be a non-compliant practice).

15.  Now you need to provide these links so that they are visible on your website.  Adding checkboxes to forms, where users have to agree to each policy, where the checkboxes are required and also unselected by default, is a good practice (this provides you a timestamp the moment someone consented to their data being collected, for example). Also, adding clearly visible links to the website's footer is a good practice. The steps below outline how to add links in a Squarespace footer.

15. While viewing any page in the builder, click 'edit', then scroll down and click 'edit footer':

16. Click the edit button for the section where you want to add the policy link(s).  In this example, we'll be adding it to the bottom of the About section of this sample website.  Type in "Privacy Policy", select those words, and then click the hyperlink button (aka the chain icon).  Then click the settings button (gear icon):

17. In the Settings area, click 'page', and type out your respective policy page to add the respective hyperlink.

18. Click 'save' and the modal popup will then close.  Then click 'apply' to apply the hyperlink change.  Then click 'save' in the top left corner to save the page changes. Now your policies will be visible in your global footer.

If you are wanting to also add the Usercentrics cookie consent solution, you can do so by following these separate instructions
