Connecticut recently updated its privacy law (CTDPA), where the law now applies based on a new set of qualifiers.
For the CDPA to apply, the website owner has to be a for-profit, has to do business in Connecticut, has to collect the personal information of residents of Connecticut and has to meet at least one of the following conditions:
Annually control or process the personal information of 35,000 or more residents of Connecticut; OR
Control or process the sensitive personal information of residents of Connecticut; OR
Sell the personal information of residents of Connecticut.
Bulk Update Details:
If you received an email from Termageddon between May and June of 2026, where we notified you that we applied a bulk update to your license(s), we applied the following answers (based on your previous answers):
| New question | Answer |
| Do you annually control or process the personal information of 35,000 or more residents of Connecticut? | No |
| Do you control or process the sensitive personal information of residents of Connecticut? | No |
| Do you sell the personal information of residents of Connecticut? | No |
Assuming the above answers are still true for your business, then no further action is required.
If however you need to adjust these answers, you can do so via these steps:
1. Log in (https://policies.termageddon.com)
2. Click into your license
3. Click "Edit" for "Privacy Law Identifier".
4. Change your respective answers and click "Save and Exit"
5. Now, in your license dashboard, you may see an 'incomplete' message next to a section of your questionnaire. Click 'Edit' next in the impacted section. Answer any new questions and click 'save and exit'.
6. Repeat the above step #5 if needed.
