What are the new/amended laws?

In the second half of 2025, there are 4 new/amended privacy laws going into effect:


  1. New laws:

    1. Tennessee Information Protection Act (effective date: July 1, 2025)

    2. Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act (effective date: July 31, 2025)

    3. Maryland Online Data Privacy Act of 2024 (effective date: October 1, 2025)

  2. Amended laws:

    1. Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act (MCDPA) (effective date: October 1, 2025)


Do these apply to you? Like all privacy laws, these laws can also apply to website owners located outside of those states/territories. These new privacy laws however also have ‘qualifiers,’ meaning that just because you collect the personal information from residents of these areas, you still have to exceed certain business size and data processing thresholds for the laws to apply. 


One-click update feature available (for most customers): 

Most of Termageddons’ customers are small business (and small nonprofit) website owners, and, for that reason, we are offering a one-click update feature, where you can apply the most common answers to these new questions with one click.


In your email inbox, you should see an ‘action required’ email from Termageddon.  Within that email, we outline the steps you can take to update your license with one click. 


If the following answers accurately reflect your business, you can utilize the bulk update feature:

If the above answers accurately reflect your website/business, you can click the ‘one click update’ button to bulk update your license with the above answers to our questionnaire (within the email notice).  No further action will be required after you perform this bulk update. 



Action Required notice:


If the above answers do not reflect your website/business (e.g. you are a large business), additional questions are now available within your license, which you will need to answer. Upon answering these new questions, Termageddon will automatically update your Privacy Policy with the newly required disclosures. 


To update your license:

  1. Log in (https://policies.termageddon.com)

  2. Click into your license

  3. Click the ‘Review Answers’ button

  4. Review each page of your questionnaire, clicking ‘Next’ along the way.  The new questions will be highlighted purple so that you can quickly locate/answer them.

  5. Upon reviewing and completing your license questionnaire, no further action will be required; you do *not* need to re-embed any codes onto your website.
