• The right to opt out of the use of personal information for direct marketing;

• The right to opt out of the use of personal information for automated decision making. 

By law, these rights are provided to residents of South Africa only. However, some businesses may want to provide these rights to every website or application visitor as doing so can: 

• Prevent the work inherent in confirming the individual’s place of residence when they request to exercise their privacy rights; 

• Reduce the confusion of individuals as to what privacy rights apply to them; 

• Help reduce the length of your Privacy Policy, especially if you have to comply with multiple privacy laws.
